- Brown ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet.
- In a crock-pot, layer chopped cabbage, cooked ground beef and onion, uncooked rice, and the jar of sauce.
- Fill the empty sauce jar with 1 cup water, shake well, and pour over the layered ingredients.
- Cover with lid and cook on low overnight or on high for 5 to 6 hours.
- Alternatively, steam the cabbage in 1/2 cup water, cook 3 cups rice separately, and assemble in a large casserole.
- Bake the casserole for 1 hour at 350°F.
