Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 to 1.5 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 large jar thick and chunky Ragu sauce
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet.
  2. In a crock-pot, layer chopped cabbage, cooked ground beef and onion, uncooked rice, and the jar of sauce.
  3. Fill the empty sauce jar with 1 cup water, shake well, and pour over the layered ingredients.
  4. Cover with lid and cook on low overnight or on high for 5 to 6 hours.
  5. Alternatively, steam the cabbage in 1/2 cup water, cook 3 cups rice separately, and assemble in a large casserole.
  6. Bake the casserole for 1 hour at 350°F.
