Molded Blue Cheese Spread

A rich, creamy blue cheese spread with a tangy flavor, accented by nuts and hot pepper sauce, perfect for elegant appetizers or cheese platters.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cold dry white wine
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • few dashes hot pepper sauce
  • 8 ounces blue cheese
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Pour the white wine into the blender container.
  2. Sprinkle the gelatin over the wine and let stand for 2 to 3 minutes to soften.
  3. Add hot milk to the blender and whirl for 2 minutes or until the gelatin is dissolved and the mixture is blended.
  4. Add Worcestershire sauce and hot pepper sauce to the mixture.
  5. Add cubed blue cheese and cream cheese, a few cubes at a time, whirling until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a mold, chill until set, then unmold and serve garnished with chopped walnuts or pecans.
