Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 package Zwieback, crushed fine
  • 3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 pint sour cream

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter and blend it with the crushed Zwieback crumbs.
  2. Press the crumb mixture into the bottom of a 10-inch springform pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla; beat well.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  5. Stir in the sour cream until smooth.
  6. Pour the filling into the prepared crumb-lined pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes or until the center is firm.
  8. Turn off the oven and open the door slightly.
  9. Leave the cheesecake in the oven until completely cooled.
