Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 oz. baking chocolate
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or sour milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Stir together the baking chocolate, boiling water, and margarine and let cool.
  2. Sift together baking soda, salt, sugar, and flour three times.
  3. Add dry ingredients to the cooled chocolate mixture.
  4. Stir until smooth.
  5. Add beaten eggs, sour milk, and vanilla to the chocolate mixture.
  6. Stir well but don't overbeat.
  7. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan or two 8-inch round pans.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes.
  9. Frost with Peanut Butter Fudge Frosting once cooled.
