Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 4 to 5 potatoes
  • 2 to 3 medium onions
  • flour
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. In a 13 x 9-inch baking dish, place a few slices of butter.
  2. Add a layer of potato slices, then a layer of onions.
  3. Sprinkle with 4 tablespoons of flour, salt, and pepper, then add several pats of butter.
  4. Repeat the layers of potatoes, onions, flour, salt, pepper, and butter.
  5. Pour enough milk to cover the first layer of ingredients.
  6. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
