Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 4 oz. bitter chocolate
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 Tbsp. cold coffee
  • chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt together the bitter chocolate with the stick of butter.
  2. Mix the eggs, sugar, flour, vanilla, and coffee in a separate bowl.
  3. Blend the chocolate and butter mixture with the egg mixture until combined.
  4. Pour the batter into an 8 x 14-inch pan.
  5. Sprinkle with chopped nuts or other small edible bits if desired.
  6. Bake about 20 minutes in a 350°F oven.
  7. Test with a toothpick for slight moistness.
  8. Refrigerate immediately to keep them moist. They can also be frozen.
