Delicious mushroom-filled rolls with creamy, savory flavors, topped with buttery crust—perfect as an appetizer or elegant snack for gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. mushrooms, chopped fine
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 6 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups light cream
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. onion salt
  • 1 1/2 loaves bread

Instructions

  1. Saute mushrooms in butter for 5 minutes.
  2. Let cool.
  3. Add flour and blend well.
  4. Add salt.
  5. Stir in cream, stirring constantly. Add lemon juice and onion salt.
  6. Take crust off bread and roll slices thin.
  7. Spread mixture on each slice of bread and roll like a jelly roll.
  8. Freeze slightly; cut into thirds.
  9. Brush with melted butter.
  10. Bake at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
