Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 c. melted butter, cooled
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 lb. pitted dates, chopped small
  • 2 c. chopped walnuts
  • 10x powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Beat sugar and eggs; add butter and beat a little longer.
  3. Add flour, baking powder and salt.
  4. Fold in dates and nuts.
  5. Line a 15 x 10-inch cookie sheet with waxed paper.
  6. Pour mixture into cookie sheet and spread evenly.
  7. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
  8. Cut into squares with sharp knife while still lukewarm.
  9. Sprinkle with 10x powdered sugar before serving.
