Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 cups uncooked oats
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter or margarine.
  2. Add sugar and cocoa; mix well.
  3. Add milk and cook over medium heat until it comes to a boil.
  4. Boil for 5 minutes or until the mixture reaches soft-ball stage.
  5. Remove from heat; stir in oats, peanut butter, and vanilla extract.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Spoon the mixture onto wax paper and let set until firm.
