Ingredients

  • 1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
  • 5 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 3/4 c. sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 c. bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet.
  2. Add sliced mushrooms and cook over low heat, covered, until wilted.
  3. In a saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons of butter and blend with flour to make a roux.
  4. Gradually add milk, sour cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg, stirring until thickened.
  5. Pour the cooked mushrooms into a casserole dish.
  6. Pour the sauce over the mushrooms.
  7. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake at 350°F until hot and bubbly.
