Mushroom Roll-Ups

Mushroom Roll-Ups offer a delightful combination of sautéed mushrooms with creamy flavors, wrapped in thin bread slices. Perfect as an appetizer or light snack, their rich taste and elegant presentation make them ideal for entertaining or a sophisticated snack choice.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. fresh mushrooms
  • 1 c. butter
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. Accent
  • 4 c. light cream
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. minced chives
  • 4 tsp. lemon juice
  • 4 sandwich loaves white bread

Instructions

  1. Peel mushrooms and dice them.
  2. Saute the diced mushrooms in butter for five minutes.
  3. Blend in flour, salt, and Accent (monosodium glutamate).
  4. Stir in light cream and simmer until the mixture thickens.
  5. Add minced chives and lemon juice, then blend well.
  6. Remove crusts from bread slices and roll each slice thin.
  7. Spread the mushroom mixture evenly over each bread slice.
  8. Roll up the bread slices with the mushroom filling inside.
  9. Pack the rolls and freeze if desired.
  10. When ready to serve, defrost the rolls.
  11. Cut each roll in half and toast on all sides in a 400°F oven for about 20 minutes.
