Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Chop the Ritz crackers and pecans in a blender.
- Gradually add sugar and baking powder to the mixture.
- Add vanilla extract.
- Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold them into the blender mixture.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 8-inch pie plate.
- Bake for 30 minutes until set and lightly golden.
- Remove from oven and cool completely.
- Whip the heavy cream with sugar to taste until soft peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream on top of the cooled torte.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings.
- Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
