Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • nutmeg
  • cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Place egg yolks, flour, and 1 cup of milk in a small mixing bowl. Stir to make a smooth paste.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Place the remaining milk, sugar, and salt in a medium-sized pan and scald at medium heat.
  4. Add the egg mixture to the scalded milk.
  5. Cook at medium heat until a soft custard consistency is achieved.
  6. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  7. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  8. Fold the beaten egg whites into the cooled custard.
  9. Chill and garnish with nutmeg and cinnamon.
