Create naturally dyed eggs using vibrant ingredients like onion skins, blueberries, and grape juice, perfect for festive occasions and eco-friendly celebrations.

Ingredients

  • onion skins
  • blueberries
  • beet or carrot tops
  • celery leaves
  • grape juice
  • coffee or tea

Instructions

  1. Fill coffee cups half full with any of the ingredients.
  2. Dye boiled eggs in the cups.
  3. For a golden color, simmer dry outer onion skins in an equal amount of water for 10 minutes or longer.
  4. For blue, mash blueberries (fresh, canned, or frozen) in a pan.
  5. Add enough water to make a liquid.
  6. Simmer the blueberry mixture for 10 minutes or longer.
  7. For yellow, simmer celery leaves for 10 minutes or longer.
  8. For purple, use strong grape juice, and for brown, use coffee or tea.
