Ingredients

  • 6 slices white bread
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 pound sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

Instructions

  1. Butter the bread and cut off the crusts.
  2. Shred the cheese.
  3. Place 3 slices of bread in the bottom of a greased, deep casserole dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the bread.
  5. Repeat with the remaining 3 slices of bread and the rest of the grated cheese.
  6. In a blender, combine milk, eggs, salt, and dry mustard.
  7. Blend until well mixed.
  8. Pour the liquid mixture over the bread and cheese in the casserole dish.
  9. Let stand in the refrigerator overnight.
