- Beat egg yolks, sugar, flour, and butter until well combined.
- Gradually fold in 2 cups of milk, mixing smoothly.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold egg whites into the custard mixture.
- Put fruit in the bottom of an unbaked pie shell.
- Pour the custard over the fruit in the pie shell.
- Bake at 425°F for about 15-20 minutes.
- If the custard gets too brown, reduce the oven temperature to 375°F and continue baking until set.
