Ingredients

  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups drained blackberries

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a 9 x 13-inch Pyrex dish in a 350°F oven.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, and half of the milk; stir until moistened.
  3. Add remaining milk and stir until smooth.
  4. Pour batter over the melted butter in the dish.
  5. Do not stir after pouring.
  6. Spread drained blackberries over the batter.
  7. Do not stir after adding the fruit.
  8. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until the top is light brown.
