Tips & Substitutions

To enhance the richness of these brownies, consider using dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet. For a nut-free version, simply omit the chopped nuts or substitute with sunflower seeds for crunch. If you prefer a gluten-free option, try using a gluten-free baking mix instead of Bisquick. Make sure not to overbake to keep them fudgy; they should still look slightly underbaked when you take them out.

Serving Suggestions

These brownies are delightful on their own but can be elevated with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. For an extra touch, drizzle some chocolate sauce or caramel over the top before serving. They also pair beautifully with a glass of cold milk or a warm cup of coffee for a satisfying dessert experience.

Storage & Reheating

Allow the brownies to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. For longer storage, refrigerate them, where they can last up to a week. If reheating, place individual servings in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds to enjoy that fresh-out-of-the-oven gooeyness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a different type of milk instead of Eagle Brand?

Yes, you can substitute Eagle Brand milk with sweetened condensed coconut milk for a dairy-free version. This will still provide the sweetness and richness needed in the brownies. Just keep in mind that the flavor might slightly change, but it will still be delicious!

What can I use instead of peanut butter chips?

If peanut butter chips are not available, you can replace them with butterscotch chips or even chocolate chunks for a different flavor profile. Alternatively, you could use a spoonful of creamy peanut butter swirled into the batter for a more subtle peanut flavor.

How can I make these brownies more festive?

To add a festive touch, consider folding in seasonal ingredients like chopped dried cranberries or white chocolate chips. You can also top the brownies with colored sprinkles or drizzle them with melted chocolate for a beautiful presentation, making them perfect for holidays or special occasions.
