Ingredients

  • 1 lb. butter
  • 2 lb. pitted dates
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 2 qt. pecans

Instructions

  1. Cream butter well; add sugar gradually and cream until fluffy.
  2. Add eggs and blend
  3. well. Flour
  4. dates and nuts; add flavoring and mix well.
  5. Add

  7. a small amount at a time. Beat well each time until
  8. smooth. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes in moderate oven, maybe a little longer until done.
