A delightful nut mix combining toasted bread, nuts, dried fruits, and a sweet cinnamon glaze, perfect for snacking or sharing at gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 6 slices white bread
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 large bag walnuts
  • 1 small bag slivered almonds
  • 1 bag gold fish crackers
  • 1 cup dried apples
  • 1 cup dried apricots
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Saute bread cubes in 4 tablespoons of margarine until golden brown.
  2. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of sugar; mix well.
  3. In a large covered bowl, combine the bread cubes, walnuts, apricots, almonds, and dried apples.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine the remaining margarine, remaining sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Heat until the sauce is smooth.
  6. Pour the sauce over the mixture and coat evenly.
  7. Store tightly in a covered bowl in the refrigerator.
  8. Enjoy!
