Ingredients

  • 2 c. peanut butter
  • 3 c. tomato juice
  • 1 onion
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. sage or poultry seasoning

Instructions

  1. Work peanut butter and hot water together until smooth.
  2. Mix tomato juice and flour until smooth.
  3. Combine the peanut butter mixture with the tomato mixture and add remaining ingredients: chopped onion, salt, and sage or poultry seasoning.
  4. Steam in a buttered double boiler for 5 1/2 hours.
  5. Cool the mixture.
  6. Turn onto a plate, then slice and serve cold or fry and serve with tomato gravy.
