Ingredients

  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325F and grease a tube pan.
  2. Cream butter, margarine, and (both) sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egss one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Sift flour and baking powder into the batter alternately with the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. Fold in the chopped nuts.
  6. Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
