Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal

Instructions

  1. Cream sugars with softened butter (oleo).
  2. Add egg and vanilla, then beat until well combined.
  3. Mix in the dry ingredients: flour, soda, salt, and oatmeal.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips or raisins.
  5. Drop by spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake in a 350°F oven until lightly browned, about 10 minutes.
