Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast flakes
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried sweet basil
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baken seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 4 cups rolled oats

Instructions

  1. Place water, soy sauce, canola oil, chopped pecans or walnuts, nutritional yeast flakes, garlic powder, dried sweet basil, onion powder, Baken seasoning, ground coriander, and dried sage in a large saucepan.
  2. Stir well and bring to a slow boil over medium-low heat.
  3. Stir in rolled oats and immediately remove from heat.
  4. Cover and set aside to cool.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  6. Form the oat mixture into 2-inch patties and place them on baking sheets sprayed with Pam.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes, then flip and bake for another 15 minutes on the other side.
  8. Serve the burgers with gravy if desired, or freeze for later use.
