Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup uncooked oats
  • 3 tablespoons cold milk

Instructions

  1. Sift together the flour and salt.
  2. Cut in the butter or margarine with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in the oats.
  4. Sprinkle the cold milk over the mixture.
  5. Stir lightly and form into a ball.
  6. Turn out onto a lightly floured board.
  7. Roll to form a circle.
  8. Fit into a 9-inch pie pan and crimp around the edges.
  9. Prick sides and bottom if using for a cream pie.
  10. Bake at 450°F for 10 to 12 minutes.
