Ingredients

  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup maple flavor pancake and waffle syrup
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 Tbsp. Crisco shortening, melted
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups Oklahoma paper shell pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 425°F.
  2. For filling, combine eggs, syrup, brown sugar, granulated sugar, melted butter, melted shortening, vanilla, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Mix until well blended.
  4. Stir in pecan halves.
  5. Spoon into unbaked pie shell.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes.
  7. Reduce temperature to 350°F and bake for an additional 30 to 45 minutes.
  8. Cool to room temperature before serving.
