Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 6 eggs

Instructions

  1. Place flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, shortening, and milk in a bowl.
  2. Beat for 2 minutes until well combined.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. Beat for another 2 minutes.
  5. Pour batter into greased and floured cupcake pan or paper liners.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 to 25 minutes until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
