Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. seedless raisins
  • 1/4 lb. dried figs
  • 1/4 lb. dried apricots
  • 1/2 lb. dates
  • 1/4 lb. candied pineapple
  • 1/2 lb. moist coconut
  • 1/2 lb. pecans or walnuts
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 3 Tbsp. vinegar

Instructions

  1. Choose fresh dried fruits when making this confection.
  2. Wash raisins, figs, and apricots; shake in a cloth to remove excess moisture.
  3. Remove seeds from dates and combine with washed fruits, candied pineapple, and moist coconut.
  4. Put fruit-coconut mixture through a food grinder, using the coarse blade.
  5. Combine ground mixture with coarsely chopped nuts and spread out on a flat pan which has been spread with melted butter.
