Ingredients

  • 1 double pie crust in deep dish
  • 1 quart fruit (peaches, cherries, berries, or apples)
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • scant 7/8 cup sugar
  • juice of 1 small lemon
  • 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Mix flour and sugar well in a bowl.
  3. Add fruit and juice of a small lemon to the mixture.
  4. Pour all ingredients into a deep dish pie crust.
  5. Cover with the top crust and make a few cuts with a knife in the top crust.
  6. Bake at 400°F for 30 minutes.
  7. Reduce temperature to 350°F and continue baking for approximately 30 minutes longer.
  8. Bake until the crust is browned and the juice bubbles through the top crust holes.
