Ingredients

  • 4 large sweet potatoes, cooked, peeled and sliced
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • 1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. butter

Instructions

  1. Lay out sweet potato slices in a buttered baking dish or pan.
  2. Mix sugar, water, vanilla, nutmeg, lemon juice, and butter, then pour over the sweet potato slices.
  3. Dot the top with small pieces of butter.
  4. Place in the oven and bake for 35 minutes at 350°F.
