Ingredients

  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 8 egg whites
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine and mix dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa.
  3. Add and mix lightly the remaining ingredients: sugar, applesauce, egg whites, and vanilla.
  4. Pour batter into a 9 x 13-inch pan, sprayed with cooking spray.
