Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup margarine, softened
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 package chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Mix brown sugar, margarine, vanilla, and egg yolk with a fork in an ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan.
  2. Stir in Bisquick baking mix until moistened; mixture will be crumbly.
  3. Press the mixture evenly into the pan.
  4. Bake until light and brown, about 16 to 18 minutes.
  5. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot baked crust.
  6. Let stand until the chips are softened, then spread evenly over the top.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped pecans.
  8. Cut into bars and serve.
