Onion "Kuchen" Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1 (10 count) can refrigerator biscuits
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 8 oz dairy sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp poppy seed

Instructions

  1. Separate onions into rings and sauté in butter in a heavy skillet over low heat until transparent.
  2. Spray a round cake pan with cooking spray and place the biscuits in the pan.
  3. Spoon the cooked onion mixture on top of the biscuits.
  4. Combine the beaten egg, sour cream, and salt in a bowl.
  5. Spoon the egg mixture over the onion layer.
  6. Sprinkle with poppy seed.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 1 hour or until the topping is set.
  8. Slice into wedges and serve warm.
