Orange-Buckwheat Bread (Bread Machine)
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pound loaf ⓘ
- 1 cup buttermilk ⓘ
- 1 large egg ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces ⓘ
- 2 cups bread flour ⓘ
- 3/4 cup whole wheat flour ⓘ
- 1/3 cup light buckwheat flour ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar ⓘ
- 1 orange, zest of, grated ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon gluten ⓘ
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt ⓘ
- 2 1/4 teaspoons fast rising yeast (or 2 3/4 t. bread machine yeast) ⓘ
- 2 pound loaf ⓘ
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to the bread pan according to the order in the manufacturer's instructions.
- Set crust on dark and program for the Basic cycle; press Start.
- *The dough ball will be moist and springy.
- When the baking cycle ends, immediately remove the bread from the pan and place it on a rack; let cool to room temperature before slicing.
