Ingredients

  • 1 cup scalded milk
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • dash salt
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 well-beaten eggs
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 5 cups sifted flour

Instructions

  1. Mix together in a bowl until it becomes lukewarm: scalded milk, margarine, sugar, and a dash of salt.
  2. Add yeast dissolved in water, well-beaten eggs, and orange juice. Blend well.
  3. Add 5 cups sifted flour and mix until the dough is soft.
  4. Let the dough stand for 10 minutes.
  5. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead.
  6. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it set until doubled in size.
  7. Punch down the dough and let it set for 15 more minutes.
  8. Form the dough into rolls and let them rise.
  9. Bake at 400°F for about 12 minutes.
