Ingredients

- 3/4 cup light corn syrup ⓘ
- 1/2 cup tomato paste ⓘ
- 2/3 cup vinegar ⓘ
- 1/3 cup dark brown sugar ⓘ
- 3 tablespoons molasses
- 1 1/4 teaspoons liquid smoke (hickory-flavored) ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon ground mustard ⓘ
- 1/8 teaspoon paprika ⓘ
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder ⓘ
- dash of cayenne pepper ⓘ
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over high heat and whisk until smooth.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes or until thick.
- Cool the sauce, then store in a covered container in the refrigerator overnight.
