Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • several dashes Tabasco sauce

Instructions

  1. Combine red wine vinegar, water, salt, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, pepper, dry mustard, paprika, and dashes of Tabasco sauce in a bowl.
  2. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into a container and refrigerate overnight to let flavors meld.
  4. Use as a marinade or basting sauce for any meat or poultry.
