Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 c. lukewarm milk, scalded and then cooled
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. In large mixing bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar and salt.
  3. Cut in 1 cup butter until mixture looks like meal.
  4. Mix yeast, egg yolks and milk until dough is smooth.
  5. Cover.
  6. Refrigerate at least 8 hours or overnight.
