Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. nuts

Instructions

  1. Combine brown sugar, salt, light corn syrup, butter, and milk in a saucepan.
  2. Cook, stirring only until sugar dissolves, until the mixture reaches soft ball stage.
  3. Cool at room temperature without stirring until lukewarm.
  4. Add vanilla and beat the mixture until it holds its shape.
  5. Add nuts and quickly spread the mixture in a greased pan.
  6. Allow to cool, then cut into squares.
