Ingredients

  • oregano
  • chicken breasts
  • salt
  • mozzarella cheese
  • margarine
  • parmesan cheese
  • tomato sauce
  • italian bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Spray a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  2. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  3. Flatten chicken breasts and season with salt, pepper, and garlic salt.
  4. Mix Parmesan cheese and Italian bread crumbs in a shallow dish.
  5. Dip chicken in melted margarine, then roll in bread crumbs and cheese mixture.
  6. Place coated chicken in the baking dish.
  7. Press leftover crumb and cheese mixture onto each piece of chicken.
  8. Pour leftover margarine around the chicken.
  9. Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes, being careful not to burn; edges will be brown.
  10. Pour 1 can of tomato sauce around the chicken.
  11. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon oregano over the sauce.
  12. Make 4 balls of mozzarella cheese and place one on each piece of chicken.
  13. Pour the second can of tomato sauce over the chicken and cheese balls.
  14. Sprinkle the remaining tablespoon of oregano over everything.
  15. Bake at 350°F for about 35 to 45 minutes or until tender.
  16. Serve sauce over spaghetti noodles and with a green salad.
  17. Leftovers can be used as subs.
