Parmesan Onions

Ingredients

  • 6 (1 lb.) Vidalia or other sweet onions
  • 2 Tbsp. oleo
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • lettuce leaves

Instructions

  1. Cut 12 (12-inch) squares of heavy-duty aluminum foil.
  2. Place an onion half, cut side up, in the center of each foil square.
  3. Dot each onion with butter; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  4. Wrap each onion securely in the foil.
  5. Place the wrapped onions on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes or until tender.
  7. Serve on lettuce leaves if desired.
