- Combine the grated Parmesan cheese, dried marjoram, salt, garlic powder, grated nutmeg, and ground pepper in a small bowl to make the seasoning mixture.
- Set the seasoning mixture aside.
- Use a glass casserole dish for baking.
- Layer one-third of the sliced potatoes in a lightly greased 11 x 7 x 2-inch casserole dish.
- Sprinkle half of the seasoning mixture over the potatoes.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes and the rest of the seasoning mixture, ending with a layer of potatoes.
- Sprinkle the top with 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese.
- Combine whipping cream with water to make the liquid mixture.
- Pour the cream mixture over the layered potatoes.
- Cover the casserole with foil.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
- Let the dish stand for 10 minutes before serving.
