Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups softened butter
  • 5 Tbsp powdered sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 2 tsp ice water
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
  2. Add a pinch of salt and chopped pecans to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  3. Gradually add the plain flour, ice water, and vanilla, alternating until the dough comes together.
  4. Shape the dough into fingers or balls as desired.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for 30 to 40 minutes until lightly brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on the cookie sheet.
  7. While still warm, roll the cookies in powdered sugar to coat.
