A whimsical and elegant pear salad featuring creamy filling, crunchy pecans, and a hint of ginger, perfect for festive gatherings or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon crystallized ginger, diced
  • 1 tablespoon pear juice
  • 2 large cans pear halves
  • mint leaves
  • red food coloring

Instructions

  1. Over-stuff each pear half with a mixture of cream cheese, chopped pecans, diced crystallized ginger, and pear juice.
  2. Place the other pear half over the stuffed half of each pear to create a sandwich.
  3. Add a sprig of mint to the small end of each pear for garnish.
  4. Dilute red food coloring and drop it onto a paper towel.
  5. Gently rub the colored towel over the hump of each pear to create a decorative effect.
  6. Place the decorated pears on a lettuce leaf and serve.
