Ingredients

  • 1 (1 lb.) loaf frozen white bread dough, thawed
  • cornmeal
  • salad dressing
  • lettuce
  • tomato slices
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. boiled ham slices
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. Swiss cheese slices, cut in half

Instructions

  1. On a lightly floured surface, form the thawed bread dough into a 24-inch long roll.
  2. Place the dough on a greased cookie sheet sprinkled with cornmeal.
  3. Join the ends of the dough to form a ring, pressing together to seal.
  4. Diagonally slash the top of the dough at 1-inch intervals with a knife.
  5. Grease the outside of a 6-ounce custard cup or an empty 16-ounce can and place it inside the ring.
  6. Cover the ring and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 1/2 hours.
  7. Sprinkle additional cornmeal on top.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
