Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans tomatoes
  • 1 (16 oz.) can garbanzo beans
  • 1 (15 oz.) can red kidney beans
  • 1 (15 oz.) can navy beans
  • 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans beef broth
  • 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans chicken broth
  • 1 (8 oz.) package small shell macaroni, cooked
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon sweet basil

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large Dutch oven or pan.
  2. Add chopped onion, canned tomatoes, garbanzo beans, kidney beans, navy beans, and beef and chicken broth; simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Just before serving, stir in cooked small shell macaroni, pepper, oregano, and basil.
  4. Serve immediately, sprinkled with grated Romano or Parmesan cheese.
