Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla
  • apricot preserves or jam

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients except the preserves.
  2. Press three-fourths of the mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Spread about three-fourths of the apricot preserves over the dough.
  4. Roll out the remaining dough and cut into strips.
  5. Place the strips in a crisscross pattern over the preserves.
  6. Bake at 325°F for 25 to 30 minutes.
  7. Cool and cut into 2-inch squares.
