Pat'S Yeast Rolls

Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit until frothy.
- Mix shortening, sugar, and egg together in a bowl.
- Stir in the dissolved yeast mixture.
- Add 2 1/2 to 3 cups of self-rising flour and mix until combined.
- Beat the mixture until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll into desired shapes, or refrigerate overnight before shaping.
- Let the shaped rolls rise for 1 to 2 hours.
- Bake at 375°F until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
- Brush with melted butter before serving.
