Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 1/2 sticks margarine
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 6 ounces peach Jello
  • 1 (8 ounces) package cream cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 (8 ounces) Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt butter in a long cake pan.
  2. Mix in self-rising flour and nuts (if using). Alternatively, use 2 cups graham cracker crumbs instead of flour.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly in the pan to form a crust.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes, then let cool.
  5. Soften the cream cheese and blend in powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled crust.
  7. In a saucepan, cook sugar, water, and cornstarch until thickened.
  8. Add peach Jello to the thickened mixture and stir until dissolved.
  9. Allow the Jello mixture to cool slightly.
  10. Slice peaches and layer over the cream cheese layer.
  11. Pour the cooled Jello mixture over the peaches.
  12. Refrigerate until the Jello sets slightly.
  13. Spread Cool Whip on top before serving.
