Ingredients

  • 1 box Duncan Hines butter cake mix
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 box confectioners sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 8 oz cream cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare a 9 x 13-inch baking pan by buttering it.
  2. Mix the Duncan Hines butter cake mix, softened butter, and 1 egg until well combined.
  3. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan to form the first layer.
  4. Bake the crust until lightly golden, then set aside to cool slightly.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  6. Add the 3 eggs and continue beating until well blended.
  7. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the baked crust.
  8. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the cream cheese layer.
  9. Bake the assembled cake until the filling is set and lightly browned on top.
  10. Allow the cake to cool before serving.
